Dori Kleber was born in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from the Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia as the top student in her graduating class. She began her career as a newspaper reporter in North Carolina and South Carolina before returning to her hometown to work in public relations and corporate branding. After more than twenty years as a professional writer, she began writing fiction for children. Her debut book, More-igami, was published by Candlewick Press in 2016.

Dori lives in the Atlanta area with her husband and two children.
